Parthsarthy Temple

The temple was constructed in the 8th century by the Pallava kings of South India. It was refurbished by the mighty Vijayanagar kings in the 16th century. The temple located at Triplicane, another popular beach in Chennai and one of the significant harbors during Pallava time, is renowned for the beauty of its gopuram (arched gateway) and its elegant architecture and this temple is dedicated to the worship of Lord Krishna.

Kapaleeshwar Temple

This temple was built in the 13th century and poignantly depicts the architectural skills of the Dravidians. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Kapaleeshwar Temple is considered as the oldest temple in Chennai.

Santhome Cathedral

The Santhome Cathedral is constructed over the tomb of apostle St. Thomas and presently it is considered to be an important pilgrimage center for the Christians.

National Art Gallery
The National Art Gallery was constructed in 1906 and the gallery is located in a fabulous Indo-Saracenic edifice. The building was previously known as Victoria Memorial Hall and was designed by Henry Irwin.

Theosophical Society

Theosophical Society was constructed by Madam Blavatsky and Colonel Olcott in New York in 1875 and then shifted its headquarters to Chennai in 1882. The society is set amidst the fantastic natural setting comprising of large and tranquil gardens with several shrines of different faiths and a Serene Garden of Remembrance.
