Here is the list of Tamil Actress who won the National Award for best actress.

Priya Mani the Malayalee girl brought up in Bangalore has won the Best Actress Award at the 54th National Film Awards announced in New Delhi today (June10).

Remember that Priya had given an outstanding performance as Muthazhagu (see pic) in that bold, dark and daring Tamil film Paruthiveeran directed by Ameer. This film was also featured at the Berlin Film Festival.

As a stubborn and strong village girl who loves the hero obsessively against all opposition from her parents she gave top-class performance.

Her spontaneity and authenticity was such that you could just not take your eyes off her and probably there is no one who could make this role so convincing and life-like.

Sify spoke to Priya Mani who said: “I am elated, happy and speechless at the moment. It can’t get better than this. Muthazhagu has given me everything- Name, Fame, Awards, Recognition and above all box-office success”.
